Hello, I have seen a lot of Wheat penny coin rolls for sale on ebay that say "unsearched", some have a Barber dime ender and some have a Indian head ender. Is this correct, did the mints actually put those coins in with penny's? Correct me in I'm wrong, but can you buy a tool that recrimps or crimps the roll ends like original? Also, how can they be truly unsearched with a different coin ender? Any help with buying coins labled "unsearched" or coin rolls would be greatly appriciated! Thanks in advance.

to the CCF, mvsvette!
Those rolls have certainly been "searched" - otherwise how would they know that it's all wheat cents inside? And the enders were put there intentionally to lure in gullible buyers. And yes, there are devices sold to re-crimp rolls. I assume that any roll I see for sale on ebay has been tampered with.

HondoB beat me to answer, including the graphic I likely would've posted, LOL.
There are legit rolls available, and I've bought quite a few.
But this kind of ad is deceptive.

Hate to admit it, but that was me about 10 years ago (before I found CCF) However, I did find some RPMs/BIE cents But not enough to equal the cost of the rolls. It's like gambling if you can afford to loss then enjoy the play, But remember the house wins in the long run.

All the coins were searched prior to being placed in the rolls, so the rolls technically weren't searched.

Many of these rolls are also "salted", brings some folks back again.... Just saying.

True but semantics.

I have done little or no selling for some time on the bay but anytime I did I was overly honest, it did not help my sales but I was always comfortable about the way I handled it and always will be. Many do not care and never will and neither does the bay. I will probably start listing things again to get rid of much of what I have, maybe some here and some on the bay but will do nothing differently than I always have.

True for this type of ad. But, having bought a good number of solid date rolls over the years and having examined their contents, I will say that short of this type of deceptive ads, there are legitimate BU Cent rolls available, including pre 1959.
I've bought rolls (and bags) of cool Wheaties, it would be naive to believe the big lots of Wheaties were unsearched, but they had some nifty finds anyway.
I would never buy the nonsense of exotic end rollers. That's clearly deceptive.

Best policy. Better to have an ad languish than to have annoyed buyers and their feedback due to hype.

Nothing to do with the buyers, just me and my clarity of mind.... DO THE RIGHT THING, with all things in life.

Pretty much what I said, from a different perspective, I reckon.
