The Mercury dimes (sometimes called the Winged Liberty Dimes) were minted from 1916 to 1945. There were no Mercury dimes minted in 1922, 1932, or 1933.

It appears he is going for a years set, which would be much easier to complete since a 16-d is not needed.

Winged Liberty is the correct name as Moe pointed out..I wonder why as sticklers to minute details most coin collectors call them Mercurys..sure it looks vaguely like the Mercury Icon..but its a winged Liberty...answers on a postcard to Who Cares , c/o nowheresville.

1928 should present no problem , forget 1921 for now , get that one on your xmas wish list and proceed directly to the 1916 barber and beyond..prices are on a par with Mercs for the main part.Prices will rise as you get further back towards the seateds.
