Match striker, haha, that is funny stuff RedBook mentions that a much less valuable restrike was produced circa 1862, "the A passes under, instead of over, the S." I cannot really tell what is under or over on that coin so someone either got a nice deal on a Bar Copper or they overpaid for a 19th century restrike. Report this Post to the Staff

mmerc20 Valued Member United States 372 Posts	Posted 06/28/2009 8:36 pm When I started collecting coins (primarily wheats received from my grandfather) I had a 1981 RedBook and remember distinctly seeing the bar cent and it was my favorite coin.
