Poll Question
So do you think the US Mint will jack up the price of their Silver Proof set this year because the price of Silver has jumped so much?

If so what do you think the price will be. [:0]

I don't beleave they will raise there prices right now. But I do think if it hit 20.00 and stays there for a few weeks then probly but if is doen't reach that I do not thin they will. I think they mark there proof bullion knowing that there will be big climbs up and down. I guess we will see what thet do in a month when the Proof silver sets come out to see if they did a big increase over last year

I don't know about the US mint, but officialy the RCM will raise prices on all their silver/gold products in May because of the raise in price for precious metals..like they were not making 200% profit already

I don't think they will unless silver goes through the roof as they know without a doubt they will really jack their prices next year and an increase two years in a row would not sit well with collectors. The 4 new Presidential dollars will drive both the clad and silver sets to new all time highs next year so they will be hesitant to do anything this year. And you also want to keep in mind they are using silver that was probably bought in the last couple of years at lower costs than what they would have to pay today!

will it stop any one from buying them if they raise there prices? Or do you think you will still buy. Does any one know what the issue price was in lets just say 2004. I was not collecting at that time so I don't know if they were the same price they are today or have they been lowely rasing the prices each year.

Yup Yup- Naa Naa naa Naa Hey hey hey--go high--

Jacking-The-Price-Up?

How high? I would say higher that what they had in mind when the year started--

How much? I would not even want to speculate--since the original price was never posted, figure higher than what that price woulda been--remember, the situation rite now is ahh volatile--speculative--bloviating--bubbling--still cookin--missing B-B-Q-sauce--still cooking--hmm, anybody wanna add more adjectives?

Silver proof sets were issued at 31.95 from 1999 up until 2004 when they jacked the price up to 37.95 (I guess six bucks for one extra nickel?)

I think before that they were around 20 bucks.
