I've picked this one up yesterday because I really like it : Indian Headbut it's only bullion, isn't it ? I don't think there is any value in it as a collector coin.

I've never seen that. It's not a coin if it doesn't have legal tender value. The 2001 Buffalo dollars are well known. This object seems to be a very crude imitation of Fraser's design. Is it even bullion?

I buy the Indian/Buffalo bullion rounds everytime I run in to one. They are as marked, and many are dated, but they are nothing more than a silver round with bullion value. I have a tremendous love of the buffalo and of silver so its very hard for me to pass one up. I must admit buying them when they were $7 or $8 bucks has now made me a few bucks with the price of silver being what it is. Collecting silver rounds is no different than buying the silver bars with images on them. If you enjoy them the price is usually right!!!

There are many companies that produce art rounds and bars, and for that matter bullion rounds,, this appears to be one of those,,
Its a bullion round !! But some of the more sought after ones carry a bit of value above bullion, whether this is one of them or not , I cannot say .Perhaps longnine will see the post,I think he collects such things as these.
and once again ,I miss catman !! He was a master at bullion !!

Metalman, I think is bullion, because it says on it the silver percentage (.999). It's not a coin because it's got no circulation value, and as little as I know about US coins,i can tell this is not one of them I've bought it because I find both designs to be very nice.I was after one of those buffalos since quite a while, and I also like the Indian Head.I've paid $ 18 canadian for this one. Terry, Thank You for your answer..just as I thought.Only bullion, but a nice round,i would say.

Hi Abyss
Our American Silver eagles,, although Bullion silver and have the purity listed on them are in fact coins with a numismatic value,,
But in this instance what you have is just that( Bullion) with a base value of the silver and perhaps a bit more for the design.

Abyss, I have one of those too, it was given to my son a few years ago and he has so far no interest in coins, so I absconded with it! I assumed also that it was just a silver round and never gave it any thought. Though with the price of silver going up, it does have some inherent value. I never thought of anyone collecting them but as Terry pointed out it may be worth more since some people do collect them just for the design. Hmmmm, have to give those silver rounds more thought!!! Thanks for posting the pic. Reminds me that I need to keep better track of what I have! Margaret

In the late eighties I picked up several silver round 1 ounce done in the likeness of all sorts of real coins. Flowing hair, Buff nickel, Lincoln cents, Peace dollars, Seated and Morgans, Walkers, Indian cents, St. Gaudens and Merc dimes and maybe some I forget right now. I just liked the looks.

Well folks I think the term "Just Bullion" is a bit degrading right now? The whole world is actively pursuing silver and gold and "Just Bullion" is one of the hottest things on the market today! As for as my collecting habits have been in the last 3 months "JUST BULLION" has come home far more times than collectable coins and for various reasons. I don't get as attached to them and prices have been for the most part, before this climb started, very nominal on a sometimes empty wallet. When all else fails the old eagle is serving its purpose and I don't look at anything silver and gold as "just bullion" any longer. As a matter of fact the silver eagle is probably the hottest coin in the U.S. at this time!

With silver prices taking off like they are - counterfeit rounds are resurfacing along with the older issues. The Morgan like ounce rounds are a big favorite with the Chinese and about once a month one hits ebay as a "real" silver item. Just be careful when the surfaces look grainy or when the price is "too good to pass up". When something is too good to be true. It usually IS!
