What is this! How can you tease us with such pictures!

That is one beautiful coin. Great stars and such even apeal. Nice and even all the way around. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Is the star at 11 o'clock worn flat or is it the scan? Looks like it would be the scan because rest of coin is so even.

Color and lustre in hand looks good I imagine? How does it compare to the scans?

Motto on legend above eagle crisp? Again, I blame the pictures.

I cant give anything solid based on the scans but if you have a crisp pic, I would bet this is going to jump that hurdle of AU quite easy and group itself in with the big dogs. They seem to always be loose on the grading on these coins when slabbing. Dont know why.

Rest in Peace

Looks like a nice XF to me, given the coin is genuine. Trade dollars are some of the most heavily counterfeited US coins, and most raw coins would be under severe scrutiny for authenticity. First thing you want to do with this is make sure it's genuine, and I can't tell based on the scans. I'm assuming it is raw? Here is my genuine ex-PCGS graded AU-55 example.

Here is a new scan of the coin I did today hopefully this looks better. I hope it is not a fake as I bought it from a known dealer and they did not advertise it as a copy.

That's a much better scan. I can see the details a lot better. At least XF-45 in my opinion. I don't see anything that jumps out at me as fake, but I am not an expert. Maybe someone else can chime in. Does it have luster? You should definitely send it in to a top tier slabbing company for certification.
Rest in Peace

I would actually say slab it only if you plan to sell it. I think it was a good idea to post it here, so some can authenticate it, and if you still are not sure, take it to a few dealers. It's a nice type coin if it's not fake.

Nice coin. I always check the eagles eye, under strong magnification. Make sure it's
clear. I read that somewhere.
