Please list the reasoning for your answer too.

Well, it went up right after it was sold out, and is staying there as of now...

well, it probably won't go down much as it is a commemorative, and since they had a sellout, it will probably go up in price.

I am hoping the uncirculated will be more valuable than the proof.

Just due to the timeless popularity of Lincoln this Commem. should hold "some" kind of premium I would think, for many years/decades......
But I'm keepin' mine until the 400th anniversary of Lincoln's birth....I think we'll see a massive "spike" in value on these at that time.
(only two hundred more very patient years to wait !)

The 2001 American Buffalo Commemorative Silver Dollar (Unc. or Proof), another 'quick sellout' coin, is near $200. I think that the 2009 Lincoln Commemorative is like the 2001 Buffalo in that it appeals to a large number of coin collectors who don't usually collect the Commemorative Silver Dollars. As the 2001 Buffalo is a perfect complement to a Buffalo nickel collection, the 2009 Lincoln is the perfect complement to a Lincoln Cent collection. The Lincoln Cent is America's most widely collected coin. Quote: daviscfad: "I am hoping the uncirculated will be more valuable than the proof." Guess which one daviscfad bought... Despite the fact that the Proofs outnumber the Uncirculateds three-to-one, I think the Proofs will continue to have a slight edge in value. (disclosure: I have both versions, and I like them both!) 1. Most people seem to think that this coin's obverse design looks better as a Proof. 2. Coin Dealers would prefer to have the shiny Proof version in their display case.

I would also agree that this Lincoln Commemorative Dollar has gone up in price , Was at a coin show last Sunday, Dealer wanted $75.00 for Unc's , I would also hope the Unc's will have a greater value, being the mintage I believe was lower........ I do believe this Dollar Will hold,Proof and Unc's if not rise some more$$$$$$$$$$ PS: I still would love to be one of the Lucky few ( 50,000 )to receive the "Special set with the Proof Dollar"!!

I said it would go up as well but even if it does, I have no plans on selling mine.

My thoughts. Like most of all the American Commemorative's they rise through the roof after minting. Then within the next year they drop like a brick to average around issue price. WIth the Lincoln Cent's and 100 years of the Lincoln cents it will stay above issue price. but who knows with commemoratives.

I think the ones in PCGS holders MS-70 or PR60 will do the best. The set coming out in October should be a hit!

I bought both the proof and unc from the mint and I really like them so if they go up in value that's great but I have no intention of selling them now or in the future.
