1972 D Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC W/ Peeling Date

numismo Rest in Peace United States 3039 Posts	Posted 07/18/2009 01:08 am Look at this 1972 D cent. A layer has peeled up taking 972 D with it. You can still see a portion of the 972 D under the peeled layer. The 3rd photo shows the underside of the peel showing the back of the D. Has anyone seen this before? Weird because it's not a plated cent. If it was gouged, the date & mm wouldn't be concave on the underside of the peel. ? Report this Post to the Staff
