1972 D LMC W/ Peeling Date

Look at this 1972 D cent. A layer has peeled up taking 972 D with it. You can still see a portion of the 972 D under the peeled layer. The 3rd photo shows the underside of the peel showing the back of the D. Has anyone seen this before? Weird because it's not a plated cent. If it was gouged, the date & mm wouldn't be concave on the underside of the peel. ?

Wow, that is a massive lamination peel Excellent example and one that size would certainly have a premium of a few dollars.

This really has some premium value to it? Great-I'm not familiar about this sort of thing. Is it an error or a variety. Error I would guess.

Anyone have an idea as to market value. I guess whatever someone wants to pay to own the coin as usual. I'm just curious because this is the first one like this I've seen.

I've got one also,1930 wheat back but the condition is Dreadful in comparison to yours .Nice coin you have there numismo
