As I travel around and around the world in this lot of coins I started back in March I think about how much I have learned about the world and its history. I think about my mother who would get so exited when she thought she had "the coin". Now that she passed away last week I am alone in this adventure. We spent the last 4 months of her life doing something we both enjoyed. I miss her dearly.

Anyway one of the last things she did was work on France and complain constantly. Now I see why.French Afars,Issas, all the ones in Africa,Indo China,Oceania and Polynesis. You have to be very careful to get these countries right. Also countries that have Franc on their coins like Monaco and Tinisua

Hi warjag
First off let me pass on my condolences over the loss of your mother. I have to say that it was my mother who got me started with this hobby. She would put any foreign coins she came across in a tin and as a kid I would empty it out now and again, we would look at them toether and speculate on how they might have ended up in her tin. She passed away quite a few years ago and I inherited that tin. Since then coin collecting has become a great hobby with me and it's a constant reminder of 'mum' but only with happy thoughts. I know it takes time to get over a loss like this but it does get easier and I feel I have a constant link with her every time I work on my collection.
Keep your chin up and keep on collecting.

Hi Warjag, My condolences again as well. My mother and I spent a lot of quality time together on my collections. I doubt she ever cared for the collecting, just the opportunity to do something together.
