The number "26" on the other side is meaningless; it's a "frozen regnal date". In 1199 (1785), the 26th year of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II, the mintmasters of Awadh simply stopped bothering to update the regnal year of the Mughal emperor. By 1818, the Emperor had been dead for over a decade, yet he is still named on the coins of Awadh as the emperor.
