No not kidding, it's just a commentary on how little turnover there is in coins where I live. It has taken four years for a bison nickel to work it's way into the area. (I know they aren't rare and never will be. Ten percent of the entire mintage was sold by the mint directly to the collectors. The only nickel with a higher percentage of the original mintage surviving in Unc is the 50-D. With maybe the 2009's coming in third.) And in the past seven years (since 2002) I've only found 15 nickels that date later than 2002. (Total Westward journey nickels stands at 8 coins.) I also keep every 1997 nickel I run across. (We had a competition on Compuserve that year to see who could colect the most complete nickel set just from pocket change, no roll searching.) I've kept every 1997 nickel since then and in 12 years I've found 15 of them. Everything else from the 80's, 90's, up through 2002 are easy to find, but not the 97's and nothing after 2002. I still haven't found a Hawaii quarter and only one each of the rest of the 2008 State Quarters. The only President dollars you can get are Washingtons, we haven't seen anything else. The local bank ordered a box of Washingtons and still has most of them. When they run out, they might order another box. During the entire ten year run of the State Quarters we only got one shipment of quarters in, Massachusetts.
