i may well be on my way to becoming the "poster child" for "machine doubling, or I may have found a 1951S 1MM-003. as with the previous confirmed finds, the other die markers are not present. I have been scanning and posting the entire coin, as well as the blow up, in my previous few posts, but the overall coin really dosent reveal all that much. hopefully someone can helf confirm, the RPM, or Machine Doubling. thanks.

It looks like Machine Doubling. Here is a test. See the doubling above the mint mark? Check the tops of the digits of the date for the same Machine Doubling. Looks like the mint mark also took a hit on the upper NW part making you think it was something.

First thing is that the doubling MUST look EXACTLY like the doubling on the RPM you are trying to match it to. Yours doesn't.

Second thing is that the mintmark position must be EXACTLY the same as the one you are trying to match yours to. Yours is farther away from the 5 than 1951S-1MM-003.

Those two things alone tell me that you definitely don't have the right RPM.

Then the flattened, shelf-like doubling at the top of your mintmark looks much more like Machine Doubling than something that was in the design on the die. All this together equals Machine Doubling and really nothing else.
