well its worth .50 unless some one needs it for their collection that adds the price of the stamp

BTW welcome and the JFK half dollar is very collectable and there are some valuable ones

Welcome to the forum, and dont get frustrated we all have to start somewhere. There are some jfk's that are valuble. Best thing is to pick up a Red Book so you can find what years are more collectable than others if your interested in starting a set.

Every public library I've been to has current year coin books in the reference section. If you are looking at one type of coin, like JFKs, I'd go to the lbrary and photocopy the pages for a quick at-home reference.

Also, with the modern coins you will have to keep in mind that you probably need a very nice condition coin (or an error coin) in order for it to be worth something more than face (as a very general rule).
