Having drifted from the new Danish notes...
Yes, manilagalleontrade, there was a special issue to commemorate the 90th birthday of the Princess Mother. Krauss has it as issued 1992 but my Thai banknote source book has it as 1990 and an issue of 30 million. Most Thais I've shown it to were unaware of the difference from the standard issue with the same signatures and watermark of the king. The only obvious difference was the two lines printed at the bottom of the watermark area.

oh, is that why it's outrageously expensive in the book? They look just like the series it was a part of.

Also, is the polymer 50 baht still in circulation? I had one... which I held too close to the light... and donated it.

Polymer 50 bahts you rarely find in circulation now. I get them offered occasionaly but they're now in a poor state. Krauss says first issued 1997 and four signature varieties. I only have the first three and, interestingly, the fourth signature is not listed in my Thai source book but is noted as the first signature on the 2004 issue (non polymer). Just tried the ISBN number on google and the only ref comes up as the Thai Coins book so I checked and found that the coins (soft-back) and notes book (Hard-back) both have the same ISBN(974-88428-9-4)!
