To me the image from the above post says all I need to know about it. It is a form of Machine Doubling that twists the mint mark. I've seen that on many years. The give away is on the top edge of the mint mark, the little lines that show the mint mark on the coin was pushed into a direction the die was not intended. I've see on coins I've searched. I think I have an image of one I found several examples of.
On this one the little lines are on the bottom edge of the date and mint mark:
