When I get the "itch" to get out there and buy some coins, I HAVE to buy some coins. If I was totally focused on one set, then when I get down to the final keys that are not the easiest to find, I wouldn't be able to "scratch" as often.

I have priorities, but no real focus. I usually start by looking for coins to fill my Afghan type set. Everything goes downhill from there on out.

I have no problems focusing, as soon as I see something I want, crystal clear vision. Things start to get blurry when I pull out my wallet.

But seriously, this year I have managed to limit myself to Aussie coins, US coins, Indian George V, and my George V world type set. Totally focused...

How's this for focus: I focus ONLY on US coins, old and new, mostly old. So what is that, maybe 10,000 different possible US coins to collect?

It would depend if you are counting Capped Bust and Morgan varieties.

I stay briefly focused; I work on one area for a while and then change before I finish the first. Get real aggressive initially but fade as time goes by. Consequently, I have several unfinished projects.

I'm just starting...So the focus is to find as much as I can as fast as I can, at the best prices I can, until I actually find my little nitch.

Unless you count collection of exasperated looks from my wife for starting yet another hobby / collection
unfortunately I don't have pictures of those, so I can't enjoy them so much in the future

Started with Morgans, added Franklins... Just made a list of 'wants' for a coin show, I see 7 types. And I can think of 4 more off hand I'd like to do.

Focus is for losers.

Oh Good I'm not alone. I started with Wheats (Gateway coin) then strayed into IHP, JFK and ultimately trying to complete a 7070. I went to my coin shop last week to specifically pick up a 1911 S (Wheat) and came home with a roll of War Nickels and a roll of bu 43 Steels. Still got that 1911S slot open....

I've got as much focus as a broken camera! Ummm....in case this wasn't "clear" enough, I'm not focused. I too have areas where currently I am interested, but these currents flow with the tides. Good thing too, cause good prices come and go and don't wait for your current interests to catch up.

It's kinda hard for me to focus on it right now. I'm currently in Iraq.

I don't look to complete a set per se, I buy coins for an interesting historical reason. I love all US type coins. My wish is one of every type, but not too sure I'm going to be successful. The problem? FUNDS I'm enjoying what I can get my hands on. NO COPY COINS ALLOWED HERE!
