This one obviously has some porosity, worse on the rev than the obv. It's a filler in my type set for now, since a problem free XF would be in the 1K neighborhood.. What would be your details grade, and what would be your net grade? Also, what approximate value would you give the coin all things considered.

I think Napoleon nailed it.

So unfortunate since the hair is in such good shape and wear is so even. It is a shame about the erosion.

A great coin to show in a type set without spending a fortune. Much better than most of the "filler" coins you see.

Be proud of it.

VF/EF; could be in a wide range. Despite the surfaces, very attractive coin; has character!

I'd give it a VF30 as the coin is attractive. These are the coins that got my interest going in 19th century coinage. Really love the 1/2 cents also.
Rest in Peace

So, would a net-grade of VF-20 be fair? The problem though is that these coins are so often found with corrosion, that a corrosion free specimen would sell for a hefty premium.
