I was wondering if it would be possible to have a separate area for members to post images of counterfeit coins? This may make it easier for members to learn what to look for or what the most common counterfeits are.

Just an idea.

A good idea! A place to show known counterfeits (and diagnostics) and maybe a sub forum to discuss possible counterfeits (either in ones own collection or on ebay or other auction sites)

Counterfeits should be posted in the forum they belong in so they are accessible to poeple interested in that type of coin. Putting all counterfeits in the same forum won't be very helpful. In fact it will make it harder to find what you're looking for. It would be no different than putting all error and varieties in one forum regardless of whether it's a Norwegian coin or a US Barber dime. I wish we had never made separate grading forums now, in hindsight I think it was very poor planning on my part.

If someone is interested in Barber dimes, they should be able to go to the Classic US forum and read about out Barber dimes, Barber dime counterfeits, Barber dime grading and Barber dime errors and varieties all in one place, not have to skip all around.
