So we're leaving for vacation in Myrtle Beach today. Last night I take the kids to my local TD Bank to use Penny Arcade, the free coin counter. We have about $300. As I walk up to the teller, I ask the normal, "do you have any 50¢ pieces or silver dollars?"

She asks if I'm a collector, and I affirm. She says that she has 14 of the large Eisenhower dollars. "Great, I'll take them!"

She says that she also has $2 bills. 11 of them. I'll take those too.

Then she asks if I collect silver coins. "Why, yes I do."

She says that she normally saves them for 'this one guy' but I can have them.

9 quarters and 6 dimes. One of the quarters was a 1935. I thank her and am on my way. Probably my best bank score to date.

Before anyone asks, I can't do pictures b/c my camera is all packed up for vacation. Maybe when I get back.

Very nice of the teller to help you out. There are a few that can be helpful from time to time.

Congrats on your finds.

I was thinking the same thing, GO.

Regardless, these are great acquisitions!

Wow.. I had a bank teller who reserved any silver coins she found for me awhile back. Not very many turned up in the 2 years I asked her to keep an out for them. Way to go!
