I can't seem to find any cotton gloves to fit my O.J. sized hands (If I ever go to court for anything, "they must aquit"). Can I use latex gloves instead? Surgical types?
G'day, yes. The purpose of the glove is to prevent transfer of sweat from skin to coin. Even a miniscule amount of sweat can damage a high-grade coin: not such a problem with lower grades. The only problem with latex gloves, or the talcum that is sometimes inside them, is that it/they irritate the skin. Cotton is less likely to do that. Peter in Oz
I can stick to the powder-free ones. I see this question has been answered a couple times (at least) here, so next time I'll read some older posts first ...thanks everyone!
we know we love our coins but when handling them wear gloves and treat them like they carry the swine flu just joking I always use gloves myself just to be safe
