Lincoln Errors? - Coin Community Forum

ErrorCoins222 Pillar of the Community United States 1699 Posts	Posted 08/15/2009 6:26 pm Ive found some Lincoln cents that have obviouse differences from most of the coins that I search through and I am unsure of what they are exactly. Your help is appreciated. Also are any of these worth keeping and preserving? This has an "extra shiny" mark that apears across the reverse of the coin. It is inside the memorial aswell and it 'pops out' from the field of the coin. Is the a die gouge or die damage maybe? And is this lamination or a gas bubble that has burst? rockdude Pillar of the Community United States 1807 Posts	Posted 08/16/2009 01:58 am I've often wondered what the shinny surface is and I thought that maybe it was from polishing the dies, after all that's what they do to the proof dies.
