Beyond what is printed on the back of the coin I know nothing about this and it isn't in the coin books I have. If someone could prehaps give a little history and a rough value of the coin I would appreciate it.

It is not actual money, it is a token used by members of a particular Masonic fraternal organization.

Thanks for the info. I was really curious about what the front of the coin meant. I have an uncle who is a mason so I guess I will see if he wants it.

The R.A.M. stands for Royal Arch Mason (a bit of an anachronism to me). They were started in the 1860s to counter the established Masonic Order many of whose Lodges were anti-Union at that time.

Some more info on Masonic pennies and the meaning of the symbols can be found in this old thread. Unfortunately, the pics there have expired.
