Here's what I dug a few months ago (top row dime and quarter) and today (other 4) from the 12x12 area right in front of my house via the Garrett 550. Yes, I've literally walked over them for 20+ years, and all four were about 5 inches or less from the surface. no mint marks on the Standing Liberty quarter nor Mercury dime, btw. The first two were right where I stand to open my car door, so I probably dropped them myself.
