it also has great steps, looks like full steps to me but these old eyes aren't very good! What do you think?

Nice snag there, isn't it fun to find something like that?
From your images, I would say yes, it probably makes AU50 maybe AU55. I used zoom to 200% and looked at the steps. It probably looks better in hand than your scan.
I think you have between 4 and 4.25 full steps.
Now on ebay thats another story isn't it? SMS MS70 too.

Yep Wheezydog, great fun finding these things especially when it only costs you 5 cents. It does look much better in hand. The scanner really emphasizes flaws.

Beautiful coin ..... nice find.

I always get a thrill when one of these 'oldies' rolls out and shines at me.

I have to believe the Master (wheezydog) about the steps .... still trying to learn that myself.
