I have a 1973 Lincoln Penny with no VBD. Does anyone know about this penny? I've never posted any pictures. I'm new to all this. I'll start working on getting a pic of it here. It will probably take me a few tries but I'm pretty stubborn. I am new here and already feel welcomed!

Hi Thingee

Since I dont believe I have had the pleasure of welcoming you !!

Welcome to the forum !!

There is no listing or info that I have on the 1973 Mint mark ? No VDB.

It is possible that it was polished off, or that it was filled with some thing, grease or metal shavings or both.

A pic would help !!

Rick

Hi Metalman!! Thanks for your welcome. I appreciate it. I missplaced that penny with the no vbd last night. I still haven't been able to find it. I got my scanner running again and I tried pics of pennies and I am impressed. Now to figure how to them on this forum! That's my next project. I collect mostly error coins but don't know much about them. I'm sure I will learn here. Thanks again!!

Pics of pennies I've been taking are not coming out too clearly. I need to work on that. Hopefully I'll be able to post this penny.

Cent without the initials on the shoulder are rather common and are caused singly or by a combination of aged dies, filled die elements, and/or lack of striking pressure. Nothing to get excited about.
