I bought a Dansco about 6 months ago, and have only had enough for a Morgan to date. That set is amazing. I hope I can complete mine with coins as high grade, and rare as those...

WOW! I just computed his final value fee on $78,080 to be about $1190. Am I right ? Heaven knows what the Paypal fee will be.

That is a neat type set, but it has been up for sale forever. His pictures are terrible. I don't understand why he wouldn't sell the coins individually with better pictures? If the coins are everything he says they are, would get more for them and probably sell them quicker if he did it individually...especially if he had them certified. It seems kind of strange to me advertising that way, unless he is hoping that someone will want to see them in hand and purchase them offline.

Quote: That is a neat type set, but it has been up for sale forever. The Half Cents and Large cents are way way over graded from what he has listed and what the coins look like in the pictures. I am not sure about the others but just those coins alone would drop the price a considerable amount

absolutely lousy pictures with more than likely overinflated grades. Of course, you cannot verify the grades for yourself because the pics are too dern small and no reverses are shown The only reason I can think of why anyone would put that many "high end" coins in a type album is that they have some type of problem and would not slab in the first place which would especially make the grades meaningless. And this- 06-P Eagle Rev. PF-70 350- if it was slabbed at PF70, it certainly is not a 70 anymore after being put in an album. Raw reverse proofs are selling for about $200 now. Another thing that irks me is why would anyone find it necessary to charge almost $100 shipping for an item that has a price close to that of a starter house in most parts of the US? The guy may be a fine dealer and ebay seller, but he is absolutely lousy at marketing and maximizing his investment. Pahrump, NV is known for one thing and it sure ain't coins

Yes, I've seen that set. It's been up on ebay for months. Possibly he uses the set to get people to look at his other auctions, so maybe he is a marketing genius after all. Probably doesn't care if the 7070 ever sells.

He is a power seller, so He will get a final value fee discount I believe. (as long as feedback stays good) "incentives" are given to power sellers. I doubt He is even intending that the set sells. Look at the attention he has gotten here, also, check out the hit count on the auction page. (almost 4700 and counting) How many here have checked out the rest of this guys auctions. It is classic bait... I know when I set up at a flea or a show of some sort, I always put eye candy out. Years ago, I set up at a toy show, I had a display case with some mint packaged items. I put inflated prices on them. I really didn't want or even care if they sold. They were looking at my tables. 9 chances out of 10, they bought something else and drooled over the case. There were occasions that my bait piece sold for my asking price, but that was only when a hard core collector needed that piece or needed to upgrade. Eye candy works wonders when all you need is attention.
