Saw a Seinfeld rerun (I guess they all are) last night that had a scene about coins. His friend George took a gallon jar full of pennies to the bank to deposit. The teller told him they couldn't accept them that way and gave him a handful of coin wrappers to put them in. Sound familiar? By the way, about how many cents will a 1 gallon container hold? On the show they guessed about 6000.

Probably more in neighborhood of 7000, but that's close enough for arguments sake.

I know a 5g water jug SOUNDS like a good idea at the time, but once it is full it is a BEAST to try and move....never again. Now they are all in crown royal bags of 2500

FYI- crown royal bags are perfect for lots of 2500. Tie shut and stack like firewood.

I used to keep mine in a 5 gallon glass water bottle. It started getting heavy about a 1/3 full. I quickly found another container.

I have 2 plastic mineral water bottles 500mL, full of 10centavo & 5centavo Philippine coins.

Great for arm & biceps exercise in the morning! Lifting lots of coins is much much better than lifting plain weights!

As a coin collector, somehow...the feel is greatly enhanced!

I have a one gallon wine jug without about 5300 cents in it that I put in there from about 1991 to 2005. It is not full, but I stopped putting cents in there (they go in other sorted containers now).

One day I plan to sort through it to see what I find. I never knew about the different "AM" varieties until 2007, so who knows what goodies are lurking in there. Probably nothing, but I won't know until I look!

All Crown Royal is distilled in Gimli, Manitoba, just north of here.

Mind you, I'm more a CC man, myself.

I don't drink but I have never had a problem finding crown royal bags because once the liquor is gone the bags are just in the way for everyone that does drink it and they are glad to give you a box full of them because no matter how much they hate them laying around they can't seem to ever throw one away
