Just scored another colonial note...this one is from Connecticut will post pics when I receive it. Paid $28 delivered for a holed cancelled VF+ condition nine pence note with two good signatures and faded but readable serial number...would rather have had slash canceled note to see all details on the note...but the price was right! Thats a good looking note too bad it has a big hole in the middle... So what is slash canceled? A line across the note?

slash cancel is more desirable( knife slit- shows all note details)...probably around $100+ for the same condition note...I am satisfied with this budget note...it has good signatures and serial# and has the classic "winged cherubs" on the reverse...plus only a few thousand were printed!

That's one heck of a cancel... Looks like they shot it with a musket.

Is there any link to a slashed note? I couldn't come up with one and would be interested in seeing an example. I'm not into colonial notes per say but I'm always looking to learn more!

that is amazing how it is in still good condition after such a long time. I agree it looks they canceled it pretty intensly - maybe a musket or a cannon ;-)
