I'm still new to all of this and can't seem to place die cracks and their importance as an error. Are die cracks a common error and therefore worth little to nothing and not worth hanging on to or does it depend on the coin, size of the crack, and number of cracks? For example I have a S. B. Anthony 1979 dollar with a die crack through the top of "UNITED" and a Washington State Quarter with a crack along the base of the bust. Is it worth it for me to post pics of these coins, or can you just say that it's one die crack, not uncommon, and not worth keeping? Thanks for your help.

They are very common on the State Quarters obverse. Some like them, other view them as undesirable. The only ones that would be worth keeping to me is the ones that flow across the whole coin. There have been one posted here that did. Those are keepers.

Die cracks are an acceptable part of the aging process of a die as it strikes coins. Because of that, die cracks on a coin are generally ignored. Many coins have an inherent weakness in the design where you will repeatedly see cracks- two examples would be the base of the bust on a Washington quarter and the corners of the Lincoln Memorial on a cent. Sometimes a crack will develop into an interior die break or a Cud, neither of those are considered "normal" and they do have value as errors.

But is that worth anything or just nice to look at? Are hub cracks more valuable than die cracks?

Die cracks have no added value to any coin unless they are easily naked eye visible and run most if not all the way across the coin. Typical die cracks are very common and are not considered errors at all.
