From what I can see there is a bust of a man..Most likely a King or Emperor. He has what looks like a pointed crown. Other side looks like an animal with some lettering , or a snake? The coin appears to be Gold... Any help with identification and perhaps a value will be greatly appreciated....

It's Roman, from sometime around 250-300 AD. I can't be absolutely certain of the emperor, but I think the obverse legend begins with "IMP T...", so it's most likely your coin is of Tetricus I of the breakaway Anglo-Gallic Empire, circa 270-273 AD.

The coin isn't gold; gold doesn't corrode like that. It'll me made either of bronze or of silver of such low fineness that it might as well be pure bronze.

Thanks much Sap for the info... So does bronze actually take on a yellowish appearance with age? I am pretty sure its not silver but then again I do not know for sure... Is there a value to this coin or is it just a cool piece of history?

In this condition, it wouldn't be worth more than a couple of dollars - maybe a few dollars more if the emperor and reverse type can be fully identified, but I don't think the corrosion has left enough detail for that to happen.

The yellowish colour would have come from overcleaning - this coin has been stripped back to bare metal, with the typical "zapped" appearance of a coin which has been cleaned by electrolysis or acids. While all ancient coins require some form of cleaning once they're dug up, most ancient coins don't require such harsh treatment.
