Judging by the contours of the lower serif, I'm going to guess die deterioration--until an expert chimes in.

Maybe a dir crack. See the line coming down from the right at the top of the P.

It seems to have pretty smooth contours for a die crack.

I'm not sure what it is. With Nickels other rules apply. But I don't think it is Die Deterioration as that happens on devices toward the rim.

How about more of the coin. Looks like a crack or something north of the 'P'.

OK, here's a couple more pix. Looks like a crack around the MM or the beginning of a lamination peel if possible.

Hmmm it's at the top and bottom with cracks on both ends.

Looks like a lamination error from what I can see. Thanks for the extra image numismo. It show what I needed to see. Not the two different colors on the coin. The lighter color falls in line with the lamination.
