So I went to the bank today, and found 128 Ikes there. Obviously I took all of them. I found one 1976 Type 1. As for the 1972s: I'm terrible at telling the difference. Too bad, because there were 27 of them.
Anyway, what would be the best way to get rid of them?
I'm having a garage sale tomorrow, so I figure I'll toss about a dozen or so at a time in a box and label it "Old Silver Dollars - $1.50 each" and see how that goes. If it goes well, great, if not, any ideas on selling them before I go ahead and spend them around town?

Personally I would not label them silver dollars.

A more appropriate label would be "U.S. Clad Dollars" or " Eisenhower dollars" Labeling them silver dollars would be misleading, unless they are the silver clad ones 1971-S 1972-S 1973-S 1974-S (made both clad and silver) 1776-1976-S 1976(silver, also made clad)

I'm sure there are quite a few members that would be interested if you offered them in the Buy/Sell/Trade section.

Sold 100 of them at the garage sale to a nice Indian gentleman for $110. He also asked if they were made in Dubai. When I told him that they were made in Philly and some in Denver, he asked if I was sure. I responded with, "quite certain."
He then took them all.

That's a rather odd question about Ike's.Wonder what he was thinking, rather there is a coin of Dubai that is similar to an Ike.Hmm Just for future reference you can find the varieties of the 1972 P Ike's here http://www.ikegroup.org/72P3EARTHS.htmIt always great to find Ike's at the bank congrats Stewart

They make an interesting response when leaving some for a tip in a restaurant.

He was probably wondering if they were counterfeit. There ARE counterfeit 1971 and bicentennial Ike dollars coming out of China. Why I have no idea.

I hope he doesn't think he owns a bunch of silver now.

Its fun to watch what happens when you use Ikes to pay a teenage cashier at a McDonald's. The moment is priceless!
