I would be interested to know what would be the last year of Italy's circulating coins still containing silver? and what fineness? Info much appreciated and thanks!
The only "circulation" coin issued by Italy containing silver during the postwar period was the 500 lire. It was struck in 11 grams of .835 fine silver up to the cessation of the lire in 2001, though it was only issued in circulation quantity up to 1970; 1967 in the last year in the catalogue where a value is given for a circulated example.
