It is a very interesting tie died pink pattern, especially
around the legend, like the iridescence of a bubble. I am
a big fan of that effigy of QEII. Great Half Penny.

Now that's a very good description,one could call it soap bubble toning.I have two proof sets and the "coppers" in both sets have toned in this way.I think it's kinda cool!Don't know if it's normal for these issues or not,but it's .
The Royal Mint does do a great job with the likeness,and the coins.It makes it enjoyable to photograph them too.

Last week, fsrdavis59 posted a Mercury dime in an older NGC holder the day after my husband brought this back from a coin show.. cool coincidence, this one's in a similar old NGC holder as well.
