Story is this, my mother in law placed more than 50 silver dollars in a box and put them in the attic of her home where they sat for more than 50 years. For years I begged her to let me get them down to inspect what she had and get them into a safe environment. She finally relented. Here are just four of the silver dollars I found. The toning is completely natural. The coins were loose in the box and therefore laying on top of each other. There will be four, this is the first of those four. There are plenty others toned but I just picked these four to start with.

Yesterday I went to the Chicago International Coin Fair, the largest show in the U.S. featuring ancient and foreign coins.

There I saw, and fell in love with, this lovely 1853 Gothic Head Florin. It was a coin on my "bucket list".

I bought it from a well-known dealer with whom I've done business for many years. He said the coin was part of a collection that had been in an album for half a century and that the toning was the result of this.

I've made the coin my CCF Avatar.

It's a medal, not a coin, but thought some of you might like to see it. This is my first bigger purchase for quite some time.
That is beautiful!

Just picked this girl up yesterday for spot. Probably a modern restrike though I'm sure, but the color is great and look at the pullaway. It's just about the strongest I've seen...

Easy, make friends with a high-turnover lcs owner that doesn't care much about anything more than turn & burn. This type of stuff is meaningless to him. Now, if we're talking a key date I'd get it at around 20%+ less than what he would sell it on ebay for if I wanted it. This hobby is just as much about who you know than it is about what you know... Build bridges and the toll is cheap

That said, I have no clue what this monster MTT would or could sell for. Just that I couldn't pass it up for basically spot

Here are some better pics..
