I won this medal few days ago and it came today.

Project and execution: Bohdan Chmielewski
Year of issue: 1988
Mintage: less than 2000
Diameter: 70mm
Metal: Silvered bronze

70th-Anniversary-Of-Poland's-Regaining-Independence-Medal 70th-Anniversary-Of-Poland's-Regaining-Independence-Medal

Obv: The profile bust of Polish statesman Józef Pi³sudski and the text "Józef Pi³sudski 1867-1935 70th anniversary of Poland's regaining independence"

Rev: The figure of the sower, behind him eagles and three flags and three dates - 1831, 1863, 1918 (flags of the November Uprising forces, the January Uprising forces and Polish Legions). Under the flags and protuberant dates three concave dates: 1772, 1793, 1795 (dates of the Partitions of Poland).

Very nice medal.

I really like the way they feature the two eagles - facing in opposite directions with the Imperial eagle in the background. Lots of political symbolism.
