So, I went to our "General Store" to purchase some light bulbs. Well as I went to the checkout, I saw the cashier stacking dozens of half dollars, Ikes and sac/presidential dollars! I asked them if he would trade for cash, and he was happy to do so. I turned my head to look at the sides of the half dollars and got excited over a couple them! I ended up buying $50 worth of halves and $10 worth of dollar coins. Out of that group, I found 4 40% halves and 1 90% halves! There were also tons of commemorative halves, so it was a good day at the store. I don't encounter those coin types in massive quantities ever outside of a bank.
it's great to find anything like that at face value. Always makes me smile. Many times the cashiers want to get them out of the drawer cause it messes up the time space continuum of their minds.
Oh, sorry; I meant bicentennial which arent really worth more than face. Nothing really special in the lot except the 5 silver halves, but it was still fun. He still has about $10 more, so I may buy the rest of them to see if there is any more silver.
