SeatedNut, There are some politics, but overall, it is a wonderful community. Thick Skin is a must, and even those whom have it get flustered every once in a while. You would be a great asset over there. It sounds like you might be one of the people who left that everyone misses. I always hear about the early days of vamworld, how it was all about learning, now not quite as much. Thats what I have heard at least. Your 8tf guide was a hit! I have gotten many thanks for it via PM and was sure to let them know it was you who made it. Thanks again for that.

Thanks for the kind words.
To clarify, I didn't have any "issues" with the VAMWorld discussion group, I just have an "access" limitation. I can't access the site from work (thankfully they haven't banned CCF). At home I spend a great deal of time online looking for new acquisitions and not much time to watch the threads there. Usually by the time I stop in, someone else has already attributed the posted coin. I stopped in last night and had to catch up for a week.

Oh btw ... Bryan there's a VAM 80 on the Bay! It's raw, unattributed, AU details, and cleaned. Don't think you'll be chasing that one.

nah I will leave that one for all the other searchers. As soon as I find me another VAM-80 in 63 or above I will send all my coins into PCGS for attribution and bring my B1 Reverse set back up in the #1 position where it was a few years ago

I am an IT guy, and if you want to bypass most of you company firewalls, go to http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html and enter the site you want to visit... note this is slower, and does not work well with e-mail websites like gmail.com and hotmail.com but should allow you to surf sites normally blocked by company firewalls. Just an FYI

remmy1100 The company I work for is REAL BIG and has also blocked that link. (Can you say "Big Brother is watching?") btw I see you're from Missouri ... I live just across the river from St Louis in Illinois. Are you an Eastern, Western or Central MO. resident? Also am a "hunter". Can't email you until you get off double-secret probation (50 quality posts and two weeks). Start posting!

Not at all Remmy ... I do have a sense of humor and appreciate it in others. Now get busy and make that 50! You could post a short list here. As I mentioned it's primarily 1878-P/S, 1880-P/O and 1891-O. I used to look a more Peace dollars but the overall quality of offerings on ebay has dropped substantially on these. Oh, and don't bother me this weekend (Fri-Sun) because it's the start of the IL deer season.

Yeah... you guys are a week behind us. I saw a nice 8 pointer this past weekend, but I wont shoot an 8 pointer on opening weekend. (unless he has huge mass) I was sitting with my Dad in my blind. I find deer hunting much more enjoyable when hunting/sitting with him. The deer came within 10 yards of the fabric blind. I had been rattling pretty aggressively that morning and when he finally winded us and started down the hill, tail up, I hit the rattle again and he stopped, turned around and stared for like 3 minutes. Then he went on down the hill and bedded down about 50 yards away. He didnt even mind when my Dad had to get out and piss like 50 times. LOL I thought for sure once the zipper made its noise, he was gone, but it was nice to see that he has the smarts to get through the season, because he will be a NICE buck next year.
Best of luck and I hope you get the BIG UN'! And finally. BE SAFE!

Quote: BTW... I just found out the other day... I AM GONNA BE A DADDY! CONGRATS! This needs to be announced in the CCF Family topics and not buried in this thread! BTW ... if we are going to talk hunting in this forum we'll need to add a quick reference to coins.

Not sure where that is or if anyone besides the VAM folks care. LOL I probably wouldnt if I didnt know the person. But regardless... Thanks! Oh yeah... um.... Isn't the 1880-O VAM-19B an awesome coin? There are only 3 known and I have 1 and the other person owns the other 2. Got super lucky on that pick!
