I've heard that the union at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing made a big fuss about eliminating the $1 bill so that's a factor in the $1 coin's continued lack of success.

Do you mean the color of the seal on the two dollar bills the color of the seal is associated with the type of not the green seen on the obverse of the 1976 note is a fed reserve note, the red seal is from a United states note, also earlier piece so therefore I guess it would be more collectable
and there are blue seals on other notes 1,5,10.etc. that signifies it as silver certificate

Yes, I have looked on ebay, I have a number of 2 dollar bills, I was also given the millenium pack , but when I searched I saw gold, red and green seals, I wondered if this made a difference to collectors

Unless you are on your way to the nudie bar WHY would you carry 50 one's in your pocket?

In fact cash drawers DO have a space for them, but most places put unopened rolls of coins in that slot.

Yes, the seal color matters a lot when valueing US currency. Generally the gold seals are the most valuable and the green seals are the least valuable with the red in the middle. BOCTAE
