Happy Mother's Day to all the moms here! My "kid" has four feet and fur, so she's not real good about remembering holidays... 
On a related note, I taught my own mom something about coins yesterday. She actually tagged along on one of the trips to the coin shop, and she was looking at the display of modern commems. She noticed that some were "shinier" than others, so I explained the difference between Proof and Uncirculated commems, and that the face value is not what you'd want to spend it for. She seemed halfway interested, which is more than I've gotten out of her in the past!
