Poll Question
We have had polls regarding our age, and we have a thread to post your pic. I believe we have as many lady collectors as men in our coin community. This poll is to try & determine just how many. Many think that females are not into coin collecting. I believe that women are just as heavily involved as men. Lets see what happens. You do not have to post if you don't want to, but at least click on the selections to see if we can prove my theory. For example I am male and over 30, (way over 30) hehe Thanks.

I love to see the outcome. Many think I'm male if its coin related.

Then you come to US...no, not United States...US. We are both a male AND a female.

Male-25
Female-29

(Yes, to clarify, married couple who BOTH enjoy coin collecting!)

Male, over 30.

The poll is going as I expected. Middle aged men for the most part. Most all the coin collectors I know fall into this category.

You didn't give an option for a female who is exactly 30!! I guess technically I am over 30, since my birthday was in August... Most of the time when I go into a coin shop I'm the only female there, although my favorite coin shop sells jewelry as well and sometimes there's women in that section.

I'll let you in on secret Cisco. There has probably been more women in tokens and medals than coins. Don't know if that's true today or not but there were a lot of them in TAMS in the early days. I got the collected journals on ebay for 1962-1964. They published the names of new members and the names of existing memembers. There were quite a few of them.

The BIE Guild also had a lot of women, including Jean Cohen who published her own reference book with 6,000 line drawings in it. In TAMs Virginia Culver was a founder and one of the early presidents. She also became the first woman president of the ANA later on and was the one who got the ball rolling on the first ANA grading guide. She also had a front spot in Coinage every month.

There are a lot of women, right now, in IASAC-International Association of Silver Art Collectors.

They're all around but they like the good stuff.

Hmm, Sorry Kyra, did not mean to offend, but I wanted a "middle" ground cut off age "if you will", without offending any one, 30 is not "old", nor is it "young" IMHO, hehe..

I have to say tho, I am highly surprised more of our female collectors have not clicked on. I still think we have more than 4 females in our community. Lets give this thread a little more time, I am sure we have many more--

Male 54! Coin poor can't afford candle light dinners but can afford Dansco albums! No beaches here but enjoy outdoors world and time in woods.(thats still free unless hunting!) Married to a coin collector (Darksider at that!) and still have a little boy (4 in Feb) and step son at home. Building collections for both of them. Very proud to be in the original Knights of the Coin Table!!!
Body of a 54 year old! I hurt now just watching someone play sports and a mind stuck on about 23! Have enjoyed a lot of things in my life but nothing more than family, having kids around and sharing coin collecting with who ever will listen!!!

Female - almost 41.

Interesting poll. I seem to be seeing a lot more women recently than I did in the past. I'm very curious to see how many women we have here on CC.
