I'm not sure how well ANACS does with foreign coins but in my opinion they are one of the stricter TPG's right now. Those pictures also look like scans so the coin may look entirely different in hand

Hi Brian, heres a couple pics from ICCS. even the F15 look better.. Now look at the EF ..yes its a half but the basics are the same.. In all honesty would you buy the ANACS AU 55 or would you think it is a lower grade.. And as for scans it could be but sure looks like a pic...

Looks AU to me but then I don't know this series very. it definitely looks better then the F15 shown and the pic of the EF40 is to small for me to do a comparison.

The one in question is an easy EF and could easily have AU details (it may, hard to tell from the pic/scan, have been the victim of a week strike) ... too bad about the cleaning.

I think the lack of detail in Vickie's hair is due to a weak strike, the only sign,of wear on the obverse is disruption of the lustre, the reverse is almost pristine,I agree with AU55 grade but not with AU 55 price, lack of hair detail really takes a lot away,

VF 30, max 40 at ICCS. plus marked "heavy cleaning" which means DO NOT BUY, you will be stuck with it, or you will discount it by 60% or more if you want to sell it.... this coin is NEVER 45 or better!!!

It has been my experience that coins scanned through plastic don't always show all the detail. This is doubly true with cleaned coins. The pics in the auction are also too small to determine the accuracy of the grade. For what it's worth, I have found ANACS to be very accurate (even a little strict) with their grading of world coins, as well as US coins. For this reason, ANACS is my favorite TPG. I have seen ANACS-graded and ICCS-graded Canadian coins, and the grades looked comparable.

They don't carry the premium that PCGS coins have and IMO they're just as strict on average. As a dealer you probably have a lot of experience submitting coins and seeing results. Do have an opinion on how all four TPG's compare?
