Looks to be a slight hint of rub. I'll say AU58. Nice coin!

Yeah, I voted AU-58 as well, but a TPG might give it an MS-61 or so as they tend to overgrade these a bit. just imho.

edit: my type 3 gold dollar was in an NGC AU-58 holder, and it is really more like a 55. Still nice though.

I think this coin would grade at just about MS-62. Very nice.

mine in my album was MS-61 by PCGS and I don't see anything on this coin that should make this one grade anytying below a AU-58 and could be as high as MS-61 if those are not rub marks. It is a beautiful coin and will look very nice in the album

Edit: I took pictures of mine (even though it is a different date) and I don't see why this one couldn't grade what mine did or maybe even higher going by the pictures. My camera doesn't do gold coins very well and I know different dates have different characteristics when it comes to strike pressure and stuff like that but I am no expert on gold coins to tell you the differences between my date and yours but here is my pictures to compare

Oh. I forgot to post the grade. It is graded MS-61 by NGC. I feel like the grade is appropriate. I can find no wear on the coin. The dark spots on reverse in pic are bright spots in hand. I do not see any break in luster. To the naked eye the fields look smooth and clean. I feel the nic on reverse brought the grade down to MS-61.

It has quickly become one of my favorite gold coins in the type set so far.
