Just wondering, what is your winning percentages on auctions?

Does a low % mean you are looking for a deal, or you are savvyvy?

About a quarter of the time. If I wanted the coins badly enough, I'd win 'em all.

It all depends on how much you want it and how much you want to pay for it.

I like getting bargins, I am a very happy man I got a Mexicao and Moscow Olympic games silver coin recently.

I almost always bid using a snipe. I win about 75% of the time. The other 25% I get out-sniped. However, if I want a coin badly enough, I'll bid high enough to win it, even if it's way over market value.

I refuse to bid more than once on an item. I go on ebay for deals, not to pay retail. That being said, I would assume I average around 10% winnings on the auctions I bid on.

Rick, I honestly think people buy on ebay just for the excitement of bidding and bidding wars. I have seen MANY good to fair deals on "Buy it Now" that people pass up just to pay more for the same thing else where. I know it dosen't make a lot of sence but it is a fact.

Hi Terry

I have found some extremely good buys just by taking the time to look through the BIN auctions.

Its one my favorite ways to shop ebay !

I allways snipe personnally the last 15 seconds
If I want the coin I have 90% success rate bidding the max fair price of the last 14 days
If I am just bottomfishing I get 50% of the coins
allthough it sure hurts to lose a gold coin 10% below melt
for just 1 euro difference as second bidder

Like others said it depend on how bad I want that coin. yes I have overpaid for some coins but I really wanted them. over half I loss since if I see a coin that is way under value I will throw a low bid and hope to win. but I am learn the more I am buying to be patient and what for a good coin at a good price and don't hurry and buy just because I think I need it. have to remind myself there will be others out there.

I would win about 80% of the time.

Sometimes I use a snipe program but if I want the coin bad enough I will bid a little on the high side to ensure I win.

There have been times when that does not work either.

Don't you just love the challenge!
