Although I am interested in your opinions on the grade, I have to admit that another reason I'm posting here is to show off my creamy new coin. So, whaddya think?

I'm assuming that's not wear on the obverse.So I'd say MS62,maybe 63.

Nice Peace dollar and exellent year. By your pictures The reverse looks much stronger than the obverse. wear on the hair over and right of eye will bring it down some, my guess VF20 while the reverse looks EF-40 to AU.

Sorry Guys !!!
This High relief peace is known for less than a perfect strike !! especially through the central part of the coin on both Obverse and reverse,, although this coin is above average on the reverse !!
My guess is MS-65 perhaps 66 with some beautiful toning !!
By the way this coin was extremely well cared for,, very clean and mark free for a large coin !!!

Hi Terry
Almost always on the circulation coins(described by Breens as normally) ,, with the San Fransisco mint being the most notable, Denver and then Philly in order.
These coins were struck up under lower than normal pressures to minimize die breakage.

I have four 21 Peace dollars. All have at least some hair detail above the ear and my best one I sent to Anacs. This one has complete hair detail but seems to be slightly weak on the reverse. All in all I thought I had a winner. Anacs gave it a 58. I have never personally seen one with better detail. Its just another of several daggers Anacs has dealt me, but the full detail coins are out there.

Hi Lou
It would be interesting to me anyway,, to see pics of your coin.
If you would like to post a thread on it ?
Im trying to absorb the grading standards for these large coins, (I usually deal with the tenth part of them )so any and all pics and info is greatly appreciated.

Here are pics of two 1921 Peace dollars graded MS64. The one with more hair detail is about $70.00 more then the other MS64. Image: peace.jpg56.04 KB Image: peace a.jpg55.48 KB They should grade them as they do with the 1878 7/8 TF Morgans. With the 7/8 TF there is a weak and a strong strike variation. The price is also different. But, the Peace dollar has and still is a hard one to grade.

Well, the coin arrived today and it's splendid. In the vain hope that someone there has a sympathetic eye, I'm either submitting for regrading, or for crossover at NGC. Any advise?
