twilight63 New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 10/25/2009 11:33 am This is way I love errors so much...this is an uncirculated 1940 Jefferson nickle that has a full dome and flat top dome on each end ( Cuds) of Monticello's roof...when the angle's right the full dome smokes. Both sides are struck thru grease (Monticello looks terrible) and the obverse shows a true "Pez Head" also...hair is flattened and pony tail is vanishing...all in all this is on of my favorites......... A Cud is a broken-off piece of the edge of the die tht leaves a part of the coin completely unstruck. They are far less common than die chips. Report this Post to the Staff
