I saw these on the mint site yesterday and decided to order 5, which is the limit. No mention of production numbers. 1. Does anyone else plan on buying these and 2. what are your long term outlooks on these? and maybe #3, is the 1909 composition different from the composition of the lincolns in the 2009 proof sets? thanxz

My understanding is that Lincoln's in the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Proof Set (LN2) are the same ones in the 2009 Proof Set and the Lincoln Chronicles set.

These coins have the exact metallic content as contained in the 1909 one-cent coin (95% copper, 5% tin and zinc).

I thought these sets have been available since late August.

We will not know the mintage figures until both this set and the 2009 Proof sets go off sale.

When buying coins, I don't think about the long term value of the item...just if it is something that I want in my collection since I can't afford everything made each year.

I just looked at the certificate that is in my proof sets and they say the cents in there are exactly the same as the ones you are referring to, 95% Copper 3% Zinc ans 2% Tin

Real bronze! Am I the only one who thinks all early Lincolns look like miniature bronze medals?

This seems especially true of EF/AU wheaties from the '20s & '30s!
