Just wondering if there is any truth to 1983 LMC's being all copper weighing 3.10 grams or am I wasting my time weighing every 1983 LMC that I find?

Thanks.

I have seen reports of a couple of pieces and I do believe they exist but they will not be common, about like 1943 copper cents and how many of them are around? Then when you consider that the 43 coppers would look a lot different and be easier to notice compared to the 43 steel than an 83 copper would be toward and 83 copper plated zinc it would seem to me the 83 copper would be a lot more easier lost.

I have heard from an unreliable source that there is one 1983 brass cent (the composition is actually called brass - not copper). I believe I might have seen one in a PCGS slab, but am unsure. The possibility is definitely there.

The possibility also exists for the one 'unminted' version of the 1982 cent...a Denver mint small date brass cent. Of course I have never heard of one found, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there.
