This ones a bit confusing. I'm not sure if this a coin, or a token.

It is a small, gold colored coin that is slightly smaller then a penny, and almost as thin as a sheet of paper. It does have some lettering on the obverse/reverse.

(The photos make it seem a copper color, In hand the coin has a more of a gold color.)

I took photos of the Obv/rev, Along with size comparisons with a Lincoln Cent (and width comparison).

What I'm curious about is if its made of real gold, Or brass. If it can't be identified, Would there be some at home way of testing if its made of gold, without causing damage to the coin?

Thanks!

So, it's a Polish coin, of this ruler

It's a solidus and the date is visible (1665). There were two major types, one with the eagle (for Poland) and one with the knight (for Lithuania) - yours is the first one. These coins have a high mintage. They are usually very crude and they were heavily counterfeited due to their crude nature.

The inscriptions are partially visible. They should read IOAN.CAS.REX on the obverse and T.L.B (mintmaster's initials) below the bust. SOLID.REG.POLO.1665 on the reverse.

There were gold coins that looked approximately like this as well, however:
- the inscription on the reverse was different,
- the last year they were minted was 1662 according to the book.
