1883 Morgan I Bought! How'd I Do? - Coin Community Forum

laxmaster92 Member United States 1154 Posts	Posted 05/15/2006 9:23 pm I bought this morgan the other day from a dealer. How did I do? Its an 1883 no mint. I think its at least very fine maybe even extra fine. I bought it for 16.50 from a dealer. How much does it look like its worth? Good deal? Thanks alot! Morgan Fred Rest in Peace United States 2684 Posts	Posted 05/17/2006 9:22 pm VF-20 to VF-25 based on the hair above Liberty's ear and the Eagle's breast feathers which are excessively worn; 1883P is not known for weak strikes. The wing feathers are in better shape than a VF-25 would warrant, but most of the grade at a TPG comes from the obverse rather than the reverse. You did OK, presuming there is no problem (cleaning or damage) with the Morgan which, based on the images does not seem to be the instance. Fred Report this Post to the Staff
