I bought this morgan the other day from a dealer. How did I do? Its an 1883 no mint. I think its at least very fine maybe even extra fine. I bought it for 16.50 from a dealer. How much does it look like its worth? Good deal?

Thanks alot!

Looks good Lax, pictures are a little small for thses old eyes, how are the breast feathers on the reverse? The obverse looks AU to MS from what I can see. Looks like you did well.

The breast feathers are a little faded. The very middle of the chest is not very defined but the breast feathers on the outer parts are there.
Sounds good TLS!

Hi Laxmaster

I agree with you VF-35 ,Just a bit to much wear to make EF, still a nice coin and the price was ok !!

Breast feathers are among the first to go from circulated Morgans - yes? The tips of the wing feathers look well defined and if the scan is accurate the color looks good. I'd say AU! Reasonable price also. Nice buy!

VF-20 to VF-25 based on the hair above Liberty's ear and the Eagle's breast feathers which are excessively worn; 1883P is not known for weak strikes. The wing feathers are in better shape than a VF-25 would warrant, but most of the grade at a TPG comes from the obverse rather than the reverse. You did OK, presuming there is no problem (cleaning or damage) with the Morgan which, based on the images does not seem to be the instance.
